at such speed (as our velocity)

Update on the hobby front:

1. Buy a bike from a stranger.
2. Strap it precariously onto the back of a car.
3. Go for countryside-based bike rides with your boyfriend's best friend.
4. Use the situation as an excuse to drink in country pubs.
5. Profit!

FINISHED

I've finished reading Harry Potter.

Actually, I finished reading it less than fourteen hours after I finished queueing for it.

Bear helped.

It has been pointed out to me that the only things I do these days are whinge about Boys in general, whinge about Harry Potter in specific, and whinge about the cat while I'm catching my breath. I'm no fun! I need new hobbies.

It has also been pointed out to me, primarily by myself, that my brain is slowly turning to mush, no doubt as a cause (or possibly symptom) of the above whinges. I can no longer string a coherent sentence together and I haven't said anything funny for about three weeks. My job isn't helping, all I ever think about these days are manufacturing schedules, public recalls and whether or not a member of the general buying public is likely to die as a result of my latest decision.

Someone needs to tell me to go back to uni before I cease to exist altogether.

So, about this 'summer' thing -

Does anyone else feel like they've been shortchanged?

At the moment, Harry In The Park isn't happening. Nothing which involves going outside is happening.

This afternoon one of my more crucially-situated wiper blade motors exploded during the homeward-bound monsoon extravaganza. I spent the whole journey twisted into a position previously unknown to humanity as I tried not to run down cars and blurry pedestrians alike by navigating through the passenger part of the windscreen. I had to laugh, partly because all the other drivers were, but mostly because my vision was already criminally restricted without any further water being necessary.

Still, launch party tonight! And lunch tomorrow. Some things are good, despite the endless rain.

seems like years since it's been here

On Thursday we went to see Harry Potter.

Today we lay in Wollaton Park and I read The Order of the Phoenix end to end for the fifth time.

Next week Dan and I are going to the Harry Potter launch party. We're going to make friends with real live owls and have house-elves bring us drinks and then we're going to go home and lock ourselves in, maybe forever.

The week after that, Charley comes home :)

Paintball

Zoë and I painted our front room!

Now it's the same colour as it was before, but considerably cleaner.

We also glossed one of the doors.

Things also painted in the process of this grown-up DIY include: a large quantity of floor; the curtain rail; the light fixtures; ourselves; the cat.

SHOT THROUGH THE FACE

AND YOU'RE TO BLAME
